How could I possibly
show respect to everyone?
We don't want to confuse this respect with 'admiration' or a personal opinion you might have about someone. The respect we have in mind is related to unconditional love, sometimes referred to by the Greek word Agápē.
If we accept that to use the real power of love is to understand that the more you give the more you have to give, then one's capacity for both love and respect is limitless.
Time and energy obviously limit the quantity of what one can give but need not effect the quality of how we relate to all people. In fact, respect is a universal human right recognised in the democratic principles of the U.N.
It may get harder to respect those that break our laws but lack of universal respect is the spark that lights the fires of tyranny.
This is the ultimate truth understood by all the wise through history.
"My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep,
the more I give to thee the more I have, for both are infinite."
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
