CIVIL-ISATION is a diverse group of informed individuals working to promote understanding and reconciliation.
Amongst these are Founding Advocates but this ethic is shared across the world and throughout history.

WHEN
Formed in 2014, the centenary of the beginning of the First World War -
CIVIL-ISATION is not an organisation and has no short-term 'campaign strategy'.
It is an on-going initiative building a growing consensus amongst individuals.
WHY
In an ever more complex world in turmoil, the simplest shared understandings have become obscured.
History's religious and non-religious have shared the ethic of showing respect, with its ability to unite diverse cultures. This 'universal respect' is of course distinct from a personal judgement that might lead to 'admiration'.
CIVIL-ISATION clarifies this non-prescriptive ethic - to promote a culture of peace between individuals.

Establishing a Common Platform of Understanding:
"The ability to address today’s global challenges is undermined by the absence of a collective vision for society.
To remedy this, the Commission urges renewed dialogue on an updated set of shared global values
around which a unified and enduring pathway for society can be built."
